About Yuri Bryars

Born on the West-Coast of Canada in 1999 to two artistic parents, I have been heavily involved in music and film from an early age, playing on the piano since the age of 3 and the double bass from the age of 5. I studied music at the Junior Guildhall in London until the age of 10 and from then until 18 was a music scholar at Oakham School in Rutland. I studied History and War Studies (BA) at Kings College London, and following on from this spent a year studying at the National Film and Television School and am currently completing a part-time MMUS at the Royal Birmingham Conservatory.

I worked on my first film as a film composer in 2019 and have since written music for various mediums: film, theatre, installations, as well as for ensembles and soloist in the classical concert world. I also continue to perform around the world as a Pianist and Double Bass player in ensembles and work on recording projects for films.
